Assam HSLC results | Private schools outshine government schools again

HSLC results were declared in Assam on May 25 and private educational institutions have again outshone government school in spite of numerous schemes taken up by the government in the education sector.

It may be mentioned here that of the 37 students who secured positions in the top 10, 28 are from private schools. In spite of the government's schemes including 'Gunotsav' and RMSA, only nine students from government schools could make it into the top 10.

As per SEBA reports, 56.04% of the total number of students, who had appeared in the examination, have passed; 3,37,570 candidates had appeared in the examination. 47.94% students had passed the examination last year.

This year, 60,987 students have secured first division, 81,853 have secured second division and 46,351 third; 6,877 students secured distinction. Dhemaji, with 79.76% students passing the examination, showed the highest pass percentage in the state.

Raktim Bhuyan, who is a student Moonlit High School in Sonitpur, secured the first position with a total score of 593 out of 600.
