27 officials of Assam Agriculture Department to be sent to Jail

With the APSC cash-for-job scam bringing to light the high level corruption of Rakesh Paul and his confederates, another scam has surfaced which involves the same individual – Rakesh Paul. The Agriculture Department of the Government of Assam has now become a part of the corruption wagon too.

Forensic test of answer sheets of 27 agriculture development officers appointed in 2015 have revealed difference in the hand writing of the candidates, after which, Dibrugarh Police plans to arrest the candidates including two former APSC members Basanta Kumar Doley and Samedur Rahman, who are allegedly involved in the scam.

It may be mentioned here that a candidate had filed a case against Rakesh Paul in 2017, alleging corruption in the employment process. The candidate Bikash Das had alleged that he had passed in the written test and was asked to pay an amount of Rs 15 lakh by one Musarraf Hussain (alleged associate of Rakesh Paul).

Assam Police is now all prepared to arrest the 27 officials of the agriculture department, after the forensic test have revealed numerous anomalies.
