Tamil Nadu: 6 Charred To Death, Several Injured In Firecracker Shop Fire

At least six people were charred to death and several were left injured after a fire broke out at a cracker shop in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi district late Tuesday.

As many as 10 people were admitted to a government hospital with burn injuries and are said to be in serious condition.

The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.

As per reports, the deceased include the owner of the shop and his employees. Some of them who were trapped were later rescued.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each for the victim's family and ₹1 lakh each for those in intensive care from the chief minister's relief fund.
