SSB jawan killed in Jharkhand

In anencounter between the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Maoists, a jawan was killedtoday in Dumka at Jharkhand.

According toa senior police official, a search operation was going on when Maoists openedfire on jawans at around 3.30 am on Sunday in the forest of Taldangal in Dumkadistrict.

Superintendentof Police (SP) YS Ramesh said that in the retaliatory action, at least fiveMaoists received bullets as they retreated into the forest.

It has beenreported that SSB jawan Niraj Chetri was killed while Rajesh Kumar Rai, SonuKumar, Satish Gujar and Karan Kumar were injured.

Rai wasairlifted to Ranchi for treatment while others were admitted to the Dumka Sadarhospital as informed by the police.
