Priyanka Chaturvedi Quits Congress

Pratidin Bureau

Ahead of the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi has reportedly resigned from  the party on Thursday for taking back the workers who had been thrown out from the party for misbehaving with her. Earlier on Wednesday she expressed her unhappiness over the party's decision to take back the workers.

"Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get prefence in @incindia over those who have given their sweat&blood. Having faced brickbats&abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate," Priyanka tweeted.

The party had removed some local Congress leader for allegedly misbehaving with Priyanka in September, while she was attending a press conference on the Rafale deal at Mathura.

Recently, Priyanka created sensation on social media with a parody song of a TV serial starring Smriti Irani, after a controversy broken out over the Union Minister's educational qualifications.
