Pratidin Time

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to the nation in celebration of Vijayadashami.

Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared,  "Best wishes to my family members across the country on Vijayadashami. This holy festival brings the message of ending negative forces as well as adopting goodness in life. Wishing you all a Happy Vijaya Dashami!"

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is a significant Hindu festival observed annually at the conclusion of Navaratri. This festival occurs on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin, which corresponds to the seventh month in the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar. Typically, Vijayadashami falls within the Gregorian calendar months of September and October.

Vijayadashami is celebrated with enthusiasm in various regions across the country, with several narratives associated with it. Among the most well-known is the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, a revered figure in Indian mythology.

This festival also marks the commencement of preparations for Diwali, the widely celebrated festival of lights, which takes place twenty days after Vijayadashami.
