PM Modi chairs security meet at his residence

In the wake of the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing an emergency security meeting at his residence. The meeting was called on to assess the current situation.

PM Modi is being briefed on India's state of defence preparedness following this latest escalation. The Prime Minister is being briefed by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Singh Doval and Intelligence officials.

The meeting is also attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other top officials.

Earlier, Pakistan has claimed that it has shot down an Indian aircraft inside Pakistani airspace after Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday morning conducted pre-dawn surgical strike in Pakistan knocking off terror camps and launch pads using a squadron of Mirage and 1000 kilograms of bombs that killed as many as 300 terrorists.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also held a high-level meeting with NSA Doval, RAW chief, Home Secretary and other officials at North Block.
