Pakistan arrests 44 JeM terrorists

Pratidin Bureau

Following the international pressure, Pakistan on Tuesday said that they have detained 44 Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists. After Balakot strike, India has been continuously pushing to build pressure on Pakistan on the issue of terrorism.

The brother of JeM chief Masood Azhar, Maulana Abdul Rauf Asghar was among the 44 members who were detained in Pakistan, said sources. Abdul Rauf was said to be the one of the masterminds behind the Pulwama terror attack that claimed lives of more than 40 CRPF jawans.

"Azhar's brother Abdul Rauf and son Hamza Azhar have been arrested," said Pakistan's Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Tuesday. He added that the objective behind the crackdown is to ensure that Pakistan's soil is not used for terror activities in any way.
