Nripendra Misra And PK Mishra Promoted To Cabinet Rank

The government announced on Tuesday that principal secretary Nripendra Misra and additional principal secretary Pramod Kumar Mishra will continue in their positions in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), which indicates continuity in governance at the top levels.

While Nripendra Misra will continue the position of Principal Secretary to the PM, P K Mishra was reappointed as the Additional Principal Secretary to the PM. The two officers have been given Cabinet ranks, similar to the other top adviser to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Nripendra Misra's expertise in economy and delivery, PK Mishra's management of key bureaucratic appointments, and Doval's handling of national security are expected to be the key power of the PMO.

Nripendra Misra, a 1967 batch UP cadre IAS is the Principal Secretary to the PMO while Pramod Kumar Mishra, is a 1972 batch Gujarat cadre officer is the Additional Principal Secretary.
