According to sources in the Chief Minister's Office, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has signed the suspension file and the order is likely to be released today, as reported by India Today.
The Maharashtra government has accepted IAS officer Debashish Chakraborty's report on Param Bir Singh. Chakraborty had conducted an inquiry against Singh for violation of All India Civil Service Rules.
A departmental inquiry has been conducted against Param Bir Singh by the Maharashtra home department for administrative lapses.
Earlier, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil had said Param Bir Singh would be suspended soon for his "indiscipline and other irregularities".
"We're in the process of taking legal action against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh for his indiscipline and other irregularities. The process for his suspension is also underway," Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse said.
