Mumbai: EC removes around 11, 500 political ads, posters ahead LS Polls

The Election Commission (EC) has removed around 11,500 unauthorised political advertisements and posters from Mumbai suburban district, which violates the model code of conduct.

EC is aware and alert in implementation of the model code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections

According to an election official, almost 9300 advertisement boards, posters, banners and flags have been removed from public places and more than 2200 boards have been removed from private properties falling under the administrative limits of the Mumbai Suburban district from Mahim Causeway to Dahisar, Kurla to Mulund and Kurla to Trombay.

The aforementioned area, from where the EC had removed unauthorised posters,  comprises of four Lok Sabha constituencies and 26 Assembly constituencies.
