Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with lakhs of people, who have pledged to support his Main Bhi Chowkidar campaign, from more than 500 locations across the country through video conferencing.
At Delhi's Talakatora Stadium, the Prime Minister said he won't allow let anyone loot taxpayers. On Balakot airstrike, PM Modi congratulated the defence forces for their courage and said the country is proud of them. In a clear message to Pakistan, PM Modi said world knows about the epicentre of terrorism and the forces struck the enemy on its own turf.
Speaking on the menace of corruption, PM Modi said India's looters won't be spared. He also made a reference to economic offender Vijaya Mallya, who is currently lodged in a UK jail.
In a clarification, Modi said Mission Shakti was not connected to Lok Sabha polls. The opposition parties had raised objections on PM Modi's address just ahead of crucial polls. The CPM had alleged that PM Modi via Mission Shakti announcement violated the model code of conduct. However, the Election Commission has given a clean chit to him.
PM Modi had launched the campaign two weeks ago for Lok Sabha elections. Following his appeal, all BJP leaders, from party president Amit Shah to ministers in the Central government, have prefixed chowkidar to their names in Twitter profiles.
