FormerPrime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday said that the government is obsessedwith trying to fix blame on its opponents instead of finding solutions. Hisresponse came after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman blamed the Ex-PM forthe bank crisis.
"Thegovernment is obsessed with trying to fix blame on its opponent, thus it isunable to find a solution that will ensure revival of the economy," ManmohanSingh said at a press conference in Mumbai.
Singhalso referred to the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank crisis, andsaid the BJP governments at the centre and Maharashtra were unwilling to adoptpeople-friendly policies.
Itmay be mentioned here that on Tuesday, Nirmala Sitharaman had said she held theManmohan Singh-Raghuram Rajan combination responsible for subjecting publicsector banks to their "worst phase".
