Lucky miners become crorepatis

Ahead of New Year bash, two miners of Panna district in Madhya Pradesh become crorepatis. As per reports, the duo dug out a diamond on October 9, 2018, unaware of its worth and received a present of Rs 2.55 crore.

Motilal and Raghuveer Prajapati had mined the big diamond that was sold in an auction held in the district on Friday afternoon.

The highest bid in the auction was of Rs 6 lakh (Per carat).

The diamond that the duo mined was of 42.9 carat and thus, the amount turned out to be about Rs 2.55 crore.

The diamond officer of Panna, Santosh Singh said that after reducing about 12 per cent royalty and other taxes, the rest amount would be transferrd to Prajapati's account.

The two miners would share an amount of about Rs 2.30 crore.

After discovering the piece of diamond, the duo deposited it at the office of district diamond officer. They did not even attend the auction unaware of its worth.
