Amid the rising tension between India and Pakistan after the Pulwama terror attack, the Lok Sabha elections in the country will be held on time, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said Friday. "The polls will be held on time," said Arora, who had reviewed election preparations in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Arora said that a new notification from the commission requires candidates to give details of their properties abroad, besides those in the country. A total of 1,63,331 polling centres and VVPAT machines will be used this time, informed Arora.
According to reports, the Election Commission is likely to announce the poll dates on March 8 in a press conference.
