Kohli, Shastri receive SCG honorary membership

Captain Virat Kohli, former player and current head coach of team India Ravi Shastri have received honorary life membership of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) for their contribution to cricket and the ground's history.

Earlier, the honorary membership of the SCG had been granted to Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and greatest batsmen of all time Brian Lara.

After receiving the honour, Shastri posted a picture alongside the Indian skipper. "Great honour and very humbling to get the honorary life membership of the @scg along with @imVkohli #TeamIndia #AUSvIND,".

SCG Chairman Tony Shepherd congratulated Team India for securing its first Test series win on Australian soil.

India are now scheduled to play a three-match One-day International (ODI) series against Australia.
