JP Nadda Appointed BJP Working Prez, Shah to Remain Party Chief

JP Nadda has been appointed as the Working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today; while Amit Shah will continue to be BJP chief.

Amit Shah, who has entered the Narendra Modi cabinet as the home minister, will continue to be BJP chief and will likely see the party through assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand elections later this year.

59-year-old Nadda is known as a master strategist in his party. Educated at St. Xaviers School, Patna, Nadda thereafter did his B.A. from Patna College, Patna University and LL.B. from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.

Nadda is three-time MLA in the Himachal Assembly. He came to the upper house from Himachal Pradesh and was appointed Minister in 2014.
