India’s Asian Games silver might turn into Gold

India'smixed relay team of Hima Das, Mohammad Anas, Arokia Rajiv and MR Poovamma islikely to get Asian Games gold in 4×400 mixed relay as Bahrain's Kemi Adekoyahas been banned for four years by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU). The bancame after Adekoya failed a dope test.

The Indian team had won the silver in the 4×400 mixed relay event in Jakarta last year. Now India's silver is likely to be upgraded to gold as Adekoya was also part of the gold-winning Bahrain team.

Hima and Co. had finished the race with a time of 3:15.71, while Bahrain won the gold medal by clocking 3:11.89.

Itmay be mentioned here that Adekoya had also won the 400m hurdles gold at theAsian Games with India's Anu Raghavan finishing fourth. Raghavan is in line forthe bronze.
