Grenade Blast At Manipur NPP Candidate’s Residence

A hand grenade was thrown by unidentified miscreants at the residence of National People's Party (NPP) candidate N Diten in Manipur's Thoubal district on Friday evening. The incident took place around 6.45 pm at Ukhongsang Mayai locality, according to the police.

Diten, who had been campaigning from his residence for the last few months, was not present at the time of the explosion. No injuries were reported from the blast. The police said that investigation is underway.

Police are looking into the matter and are trying to establish the involvement of any insurgent groups, though it is not clear yet.
