Grenade attack in Kashmir injures at least 10

A grenade attack injured ten people, including atraffic police personnel and a journalist, when suspected militants hurled agrenade outside the DC office in Anantnag district in south Kashmir on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the injured were immediately referred to thehospital for treatment. According to reports, one among the injured hassustained splinter injuries in the chest and is in critical condition. The IndianArmy, police and CRPF have cordoned off the area immediately after theincident. They have also launched a search operation to nab the terrorists.

It may be mentioned here that this is the secondattack on security forces in the Kashmir Valley since the Centre decided toscrap the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and divide it into two UnionTerritories.
