UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BSP chief Mayawati, both received notices from the Election Commission for their remarks for violation of the election code of conduct.

Earlier, BSP chief Mayawati had asked the Muslim community not to split its votes in the national election. The EC said that the Supreme Court has held that religion and caste cannot be used in poll campaign and asked Mayawati to respond to the notice within 24 hours.

On the other hand, Yogi received the notice for his comment made in reply to Mayawati's comment. He said that the Congress, the SP and the BSP have faith in Ali and BJP has faith in Bajrang Bali.

Notably, this was the second notice to Yogi Adityanath. Earlier, he had received a notice after referring Indian Army as "Modi Ki Sena".
