Dreaded LeT terrorists killed in J&K

During an encounter at Awantipur area under Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces on Tuesday afternoon. One of the slain terrorists has been identified as Ufaid Farooq Lone. He was affiliated to terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. The identity of another terrorist is yet to be ascertained.

According to J&K Police, Farooq was involved inseveral terrorist activities including recent grenade attacks, threatening andbeating of shopkeepers and fruit growers after the abrogation of Articles 370and 35A.

"He motivated other youth to join militant ranks. Farooqhas been carrying out terrorist activities in Awantipora area and across Jhelumin Reshipora after joining LeT on July 4, 2018.

Meanwhile, the exchange of fire is still underway asmore terrorists are still hiding in the fields. The joint operation waslaunched by Army, J&K police and CRPF.
