Delhi Govt Bans Firecrackers This Festive Season

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced on twitter that the use and sale firecrackers will be banned this festive session in view of the rising COVID cases in the state.

Kejriwal informed that a spike in COVID cases was noticed after reviewing the current pandemic situation in Delhi. He added that the sudden surge was due to the recently concluded Durga Puja and Dussehra as well as air pollution.

The chief minister on twitter said the Delhi government has hence taken several steps to counter the rising cases in view of the same.

Furthermore, he added that medical infrastructure will be ramped up and oxygen as well as ICU beds will be increased in Delhi government hospitals.
