Congress holds strategy meet in PM’s home ground Gujarat

The Congress has choosed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home ground Gujarat to begin with its high profile strategy meeting today. The Congress Working Committee (CWC)  has started its campaign for the Lok Sabha elections as well as have a brainstorming session in Ahmedabad and to chalk out the final the party's election strategy.

INC's General Secretary and star campaigner, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will address the CWC for the first time.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and all senior party leaders are present at the meeting, which had been postponed after the Pulwama terror attack and the IAF air strikes on a terror camp in Balakot.

Speaking to the media, the party's state in-charge Rajeev Satav said on Monday, "It is after 1961, a gap of 58 years, that Gujarat is hosting a meeting of the CWC. It is also being held to commemorate the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi beginning a new chapter in India's Independence struggle by launching the 'Salt Satyagraha' to Dandi on March 12, 1930".

Beginning with a prayer meet at the Gandhi Ashram in Sabarmati and after paying tribute to soldiers at a memorial, the leaders will proceed to attend the CWC meeting at the Sardar Patel National Memorial.

It may be noted that a massive Jan Sankalp rally, 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan', has also been organised in the afternoon in Ahmedabad.

It has alos been informed that Patidar leader Hardik Patel will officially join the Congress party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi today.
