Arunachal Police Constable Suspended For Filming YouTuber Paras Singh

The Arunachal police have suspended a head constable of the 4th IRBn for filming and harassing YouTuber Paras Singh inside a lockup.

The accused has been identified as one Nani Talley.

On Friday, a video of gaming YouTuber Paras Singh inside Jully jail of Arunachal Pradesh became viral on Social Media. The video was allegedly film by Talley where he was seen asking unnecessary questions to Paras, the arrested YouTuber.

According to Arunachal Police, the video was possibly taken in the court's lockup at Yupia, where Paras was taken for a hearing.

The head constable Talley has been placed under suspension with immediate effect and he shall be attached to battalion headquarters in July until his suspension, said Techi Hanyir, the commandant of 4th IRBn, in a suspension order issued on Saturday.

Talley has been directed not to leave the battalion headquarters without prior permission but is entitled to draw subsistence allowance as per relevant sections of the Fundamental Rules, according to the suspension order.

The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court had extended the judicial custody of Paras for 7 more days on Friday.

Paras Singh was arrested by the Ludhiana Police on May 25 for making racial remarks on Arunachali people and calling an MLA of Arunachal Pradesh Chinese.

Paras, in a video he uploaded in his YouTube channel, made all these racial remarks towards Arunachali people after which the issue took a serious turn in social media. People all over the country were seen demanding justice against racial discrimination towards Northeast Indians and arrest Paras Singh.

Paras Singh was later arrested and brought to Arunachal Pradesh where he is kept under custody. According to sources, Paras was also given geography classes by the Arunachal Police authorities.
