Ambati Rayudu announces international retirement

Indiamiddle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu on Wednesday announced his retirement fromall forms of cricket. The decision came after Indian team management replacedinjured all-rounder Vijay Shankar with Mayank Agarwal in the World Cup squad.

However,Rayudu himself has not stated any reasons for the decision yet.

Rayuduhas played 55 ODIs for India, scoring 1694 runs at an average of 47.05 withthree hundreds and 10 half-centuries. In the six T20Is he played he scored 42runs. Rayudu never got a chance to represent India in Test cricket.

He madehis ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2013 and played his last ODI againstAustralia in Ranchi this year.

It maybe mentioned here that Rayudu had announced his retirement from first-classcricket to focus on one-dayers and T20s.
