Alwar gangrape case | SP removed, 3 arrested

Rajasthan Police has arrested two other accused under the IT Act for uploading a clip of the horrific Alwar gangrape case.

With the two arrests, police have made a total of three arrests. Those arrested have been identified as Ashok Gujjar, Mukesh Gujjar and Inderaj Gujjar. Two others are still absconding.

According to police, Mukesh Gujjar is responsible for spreading the video of the gangrape on social media. 14 police teams have been constituted to nab all the accused.

The incident took place when the woman was travelling on a motorbike with her husband and the suspects stopped them and the couple was dragged to an isolated area, where the woman was raped. Her husband was threatened with dire consequences.

Rajasthan government removed Alwar superintendent of police Rajeev Pachar for the delay in acting against five alleged rapists of the young woman before her husband in Thanagazi, Alwar, on April 26.

An FIR was lodged on May 2 under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and SC/ST Act against five accused.

The Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot has promised stern action, Opposition BJP has alleged that the state government is suppressing the matter to stop the incident from hampering the party's prospects in the Lok Sabha elections.
