Actress Rimi Sen Joins Congress Ahead of Uttarakhand Polls

Actress Rimi Sen joined the Congress party ahead of the Uttarakhand Assembly elections, informed former chief minister Harish Rawat through his twitter handle.

The actress had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2017.

Welcoming Sen to Congress, Rawat said that the actress has come to Uttarakhand to accelerate change.

"A well-known film actress and former star campaigner of BJP is joining Congress today to give impetus to change, to accelerate change," Rawat, who is the party's campaign head in the state, wrote on Twitter.

Uttarakhand goes to polls in a single phase on February 14 to elect its 70-member Assembly. The results will be out on March 10.
