In a tragic incident, six people drowned as the SUV they were travelling in, plunged into a canal in Suryapet district of Telangana on Friday night. A team of NDRF retrieved the bodies on Saturday.

Accordingto reports, the SUV rammed into a railing of a culvert and slid into thebrimming canal. The deceased were the employees of a hospital.

Their colleagues saw the SUV plunging into the canal immediately contacted the police and locals. However, the rescue operation could not be immediately taken up as the water was flowing fast.

Thebodies were sent for postmortem.
