A total of seven militants along with a civilian have been killed in four separate encounters in the last 24 hours at separate places in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Friday March 22, two terrorists were reported to be killed in an encounter launched in the Kandi Kreeri area of Baramulla district, injuring three security personnel.
according to sources, another militant was killed in an encounter in the Imam Sahib area of Shopian district, after rampant firing from both the sides.According to officials, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped inside a house in Shopian.
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) miltants were killed in another encounter conducted in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. One militant killed in the district's Hajin area was identified as Pakistan-based LeT commander Ali Bhai.
A team of Special Operations Group (SOG) and 34 Rashtriya Rifles of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were carrying out a cordon and search operation in the area.
As a precautionary measure, internet services have been snapped in Shopian and Sopore while in other parts of south Kashmir, it has been reduced to 2G. All educational institutions have also been closed in Sopore.
