2 TDP MPs Are Under Probe

Two TeluguDesam Party (TDP) members are under scanner of Income Tax, EnforcementDirectorate and Central Bureau of Investigation. The two members are amongthose four members of Rajya Sabha who switched over to BJP on Thursday.

While Y SChowdary has been under the watch of CBI and ED in alleged bank fraud, C MRamesh's name was popped up during the tussle in between the then CBI DirectorAlok Verma and Special Director Rakesh Asthana.

However, acompany linked to Ramesh has been investigated by the Income Tax department andboth the members have their private businesses.

BJP MP andSpokesperson GVL Narsimha Rao called both Chowdary and Ramesh as Andhra Mallyasin November last year. Rao wrote to Rajya Sabha Ethics Committee seeking actionagainst them.

In a tweet,Rao posted the letter written to the Ethics Committee of Rajya Sabha where ithas written as, "I have complained to Ethics Committee to seek disqualificationof two TDP MPs who have earned the dubious titke of Andhra Mallyas with massivefinancial scandals.

The IncomeTax department had conducted searches at the company's premises in Hyderabadand Ramesh's residence in Kadapa. The TDP had hit out at the ruling BJP callingthe action political vendetta.
