The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two more persons in the Ambani bomb scare case where an explosives-laden SUV was found outside the residence of the billionaire industrialist in February this year.
As per reports, the duo, identified as Santosh Shelar and Anand Jadhav, were nabbed from Mumbai's Malad area. Prima facie, both were involved in the conspiracy, police said, adding that their names surfaced during the ongoing investigation.
Both have been remanded to NIA custody till June 21.
Investigation is currently underway whether the duo had played any role in the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran, who was the owner of the SUV that was planted outside Ambani's residence on February 25.
On March 5, Hiran's body was found in a creek in Thane. According to NIA, assistant police inspector of Mumbai police Sachin Waze, now dismissed from service, is the prime accused in the case.
A number of arrests were made in the sensational case including four Mumbai policemen, three of which are officers and one of them a police constable. A cricket bookie was also arrested.
