Zubeen urges Paresh Barua to give up arms

Pratidin Bureau

Zubeen Garg has urged the United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) supremo  Paresh Baruah to give up arms and return to mainstream while inaugurating the Sitajakhala Dugdha Utpadak Samabai Samiti Limited at Jagiroad on Wednesday.

The Assamese singing sensation said that people should stay away from violence and maintain peace in the society when being asked about the recent inclination of Assamese youths towards the banned outfits.

The heartthrob of Assam also said that he has a good relation with Paresh Barua an often speaks to him over phone.

"Paresh Baruah is a very close friend of mine and has good terms with my family. We often converse with him over the phone. Hence, I will be very happy if he gives up arms and come back home," said Zubeen Garg.

"As an artist I would request everyone to stay away from violence and try to be patient. Many youths who joined ULFA-I in the past have come into negotiations and returned back home but it is strange to see the growing attraction of youths towards the outfit," added Zubeen.
