Pratidin Bureau

Zubeen Garg was recently surrounded by a lot of controversy following his appeal to stop animal sacrifice at the Kamakhya Temple during a function nearby the place. However, there were takers too for his appeal amid all the controversies as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) has come forward in his support.

The singing heartthrob will be honoured by PETA for raising his voice against animal sacrifice and appealing to end this practice.

PETA India Associate Director of Celebrity and Public Relations, Sachin Bangera said, "We commend Zubeen for being a voice for animals and calling for an end to animal sacrifices."

"For this act of compassion, he will receive the 'Hero to Animals Award'," Bangera informed.
