Wild elephant causes terror in Golaghat

Pratidin Bureau

Wild elephant's terror is not an unfamiliar issue for theresidents of Golaghat. But recently the terror of wild elephants has beenincreasing day by day across the various regions in Golaghat.

After passing the night in the paddy fields, during daylight, the wild elephants use to stay at the tea gardens of various regions like Garangajan, Purajanghal, Haladhibari, Parajabasti, Sarargaon and many more in Golaghat.

Now, the local victims have to leave their own works and have to make themselves busy to send back the huge group of the wild elephants from the paddy fields along with the tea gardens.

It has been alleged by the locals that, despite informing the Forest Department, no initiative has taken by any officials to date in this regard.

Due to such terror of the wild elephant, genuinely panic has been seen among the locals of the region and they have to pass sleepless nights.
