UTC debate: Rajnath Singh to chair Bodo tripartite talks

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the Bodo tripartite talks in New Delhi on November 19 – said ABSU president Pramod Boro.

The meeting will be attended by an ABSU delegation led by its president Pramod Boro.

As per sources, senior officials of the Assam Government will also took part in the talks.

In a press statement, ABSU president Pramod Boro said that " UTC debate is a rumour. There is no official statement from either the Home Ministry or from the movement groups" said Boro.

He also said that it is a self-made 'design' to divert the prevailing protests in Assam over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) members staged a maha dharna for a separate Bodoland at Janthar Manthar, Sansad Marg in New Delhi on Thursday.

The protestors in New Delhi said that they will continue their protest until centre fulfills it.

This was followed by centre had decided to chair the Bodo tripartite talks in New Delhi on November 19.
