Uncertainty over Latasil Bihu Samragi competition venue

Pratidin Bureau

An early morning storm has left a trail of destruction in various parts of Assam on Wednesday. In Guwahati city, almost all the Bihu pandals were completely damaged during the storm.

The prestigious Guwahati Bihu Sanmillani, also known as Latasil Bihu Sanmillani was supposed to organize the much coveted Bihu Samragi competition on Wednesday. But the unpredictable weather has become a cause of concern for the organizers as the pandal as well as the stage of the Bihu Sanmillani have been completely damaged by the last night storm.

Though the organizers are pressing hard to hold the coveted competition at the Latasil playground, they have also made arrangements for the competition at the Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir in Uzanbazar as a second option. "We hope that we could hold the Bihu Samragi competition at the Latasil Playground, however, we have also made arrangement at the Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir, so that if rains interrupt us during the competition, we could shift it to the Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir," said a member of the organizing committee.
