ULFA (I) Denies Involvement in Dhola mayhem

The entire state is under turmoil after armed gunmen killed five innocent people  on Thursday night at Saikhowaghat, Dhola in Tinsukia district of Assam.  Initially, the incident was suspected to be carried out by ULFA (I), however the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) has denied its involvement in the massacre.

In a statement issued to the media on Friday morning the ULFA-I member, Publicity department, Romel Asom stated, " The United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) would like to make it clear to all concern authorities that our organisation does not have any involvement in the firing incident that occurred on Ist November, 2018 at Sadiya Saikhowaghat in Tinsukia district."

The unknown  miscreants are said to have been wearing military uniform according to witnesses.

Reportedly, the victims mostly belong to the Bengali-speaking community .

The victims were  identified as Ananta Biswas, Abhinash Biswas Shyamlal Biswas, Subol Das and Dhananjay Namasudra.

As per reports, six miscreants came in three motorcycles to accomplish the deed.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has condemned the incident and has directed DGP Kuladhar Saikia, ADGP Mukesh Agarwal, Ministers Keshab Mahanta and Tapan Gogoi to rush to the spot.

Sonowal has also directed to take strict action against the miscreants.
