Travel agency cheats 95 Assam Hajj pilgrims

Inthe name of Hajj Yatra, a travel agency looted several crore rupees from Assampilgrims and vanished. According to reports, the company cheated 95 Assam Hajjpilgrims.

The incident came to light after the tickets and visas of the pilgrims provided by the agency were found to be fake at the Kolkata Airport. The agency, named Alhabibi Tour and Travels, collected Rs. 4.25 lakh from the pilgrims from Assam.

"Wesaved money for this religious duty for the last 10-12 years. Since one monthwe have been preparing for the Yatra. Our relatives and friends asked us topray for them. Now what should we say to them?" said a pilgrim from Assam.

Meanwhile,Assam Assembly deputy speaker and Assam Hajj Committee vice president AminulHaque Laskar immediately rushed to Kolkata following the incident. However, uncertaintiesover the journey of the pilgrims have not ended yet.

Thepolice have started investigation. The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage toMecca, the most holy city for the Muslims.
