Three more detained in Asolpara incident

Police havedetained three more people in connection to Asolpara molestation case where atroupe of female dancers was allegedly being forced to strip in the name of acultural evening at Chaygaon in Assam.

On Sunday,police arrested two people in connection with the incident in Asolpara inKamrup ® district. "On Sunday we have arrested two people in connection withthe incident and today we have detained three more people. The detained haveconfessed of taking part in the event while we interrogated," said RupamHazarika, in-charge of Chaygaon police station.

Police alsoinformed that six people who organized the event and are named in the FIR areabsconding. "Our investigations are underway and we will arrest the absconderssoon," said Hazarika.

Theincident took place in Asolpara village under Chaygaon area, when femalemembers of a dance group were molested by the miscreants. The female dancerswere also forced to undress in front of hundreds of people.
