In a shocking incident in Margherita, three young girls slipped and drowned in Dihing river on Thursday. According to sources, they were taking selfies on their phones.

The trio has been identified as Himashri Sonar (15), 16, Sujata Chetia (15), and Elina Tamang (15). The girls, who were students of class IX, went to bank of the river for a picnic along with their friends.

After rescuing the bodies with the help of local, Police have sent the bodies for autopsy.
