There is nothing new in Cabinet decisions: AASU

Pratidin Bureau

Reacting to the decisions taken by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) said that there is nothing new in forming of a committee to examine issues relating to implementation of clause 6 of the Assam Accord.

Speaking to Pratidin Time, the AASU adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya said that the decisions taken by the Modi's Cabinet is an effort to trick the people of Assam. "It is nothing but a ploy to hoodwink the people of the State," said Bhattacharya.

He also said, "During a meeting in 2017, the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh assured the AASU to activate a tripartite high level sub committee but the promise remained on paper."

Bhattacharya also demanded the Centre to publish a white-paper on implementation of the Assam Accord.
