In a sensational incident, a TET qualified teacher was attacked by a miscreant in Kumarhati area under the Barpeta district on Friday night.

According to the reports, the teacher was studying in her rented house, when the miscreant broke open the door and attacked her with an iron rod.

However,her neighbours rushed her to the hospital immediately after the incident. The miscreantreportedly escaped from the scene in no time. As per the doctors, the teachersustained serious chest injuries.

She has been working as an assistant teacher at a Barpeta school and hails from the Rangia area under Kamrup district. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
