Centre betrays Koch-Rajbongshi: AKRSU

Pratidin Bureau

The members of All Koch-Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU) on Thursday alleged that BJP-led central government in Delhi has betrayed the sentiments of Koch-Rajbongshi community.

"Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was not even tabled in the Rajya Sabha by the Centre, which shows their lack of interest in resolving the issue," said a member of AKRSU on Thursday.

The AKRSU also staged protest against the Centre and burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram at Orang under Udalguri District.

The members also vowed to take action against the BJP in the coming general election.
