Sonowal is a weak CM : Tarun Gogoi

Attacking Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday said, "Sarbananda Sonowal is a weak Chief Minister and is influenced by Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chandra Mohan Patowary. We seek his good health and prosperity".

Taking about the Citizenship Bill Gogoi said,"We will continue  our protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. We assure the people of Assam that the bill wont be implemented at any cost. Let the Meji fire burn all the negativity along with it".  We promise to oppose the bill until its withdrawn, added Gogoi.

Earlier today, attending the Magh Bihu function organised by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) at Manabendra Sharma complex, Dispur ,President of  APCC  Ripun Bora and Traun Gogoi prayed before the "Meji Fire" for peace and Prosperity of Assam, withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The former Chief Minister of Assam also said that Congress would always stand by the 70 indigenous organization and would continue their protest against the citizenship amendment bill 2016.

It is to be mentioned that the protest against the bill has gained more pace after it was passed at the Lok Sabha. The Bill is yet to be passed at the Rajya Sabha.
