A SubInspector of police allegedly committed suicide with a service revolver inSissiborgaon police station under Dhemaji district on Friday morning.

Confirmingthe incident, a Sissiborgaon police official said, "Sub inspector NripenNath died after he shot himself with a revolver. He was rushed to a nearby hospitalwhere doctors declared him dead. We have sent the body for post mortemexamination."

However,the reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained.
