A police Sub-Inspector (SI) posted in Mukalmua Police Station committed suicide on Sunday by shooting himself with his service revolver. The deceased has been identified as Kishor Kumar Das.

The SI shot himself at the quarter inside the police station premises, an official told reporters. "Sub-Inspector Kishor Kumar Das, committed suicide by his service pistol. Further enquiry is on," said Mukalmua Police.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated to find out the reason behind the suicide.
