Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Assam; mocks Congress

Pratidin Bureau

Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday took potshots and attacked the Congress party and the proposed "Mahagathbandhan" of opposition parties.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, the senior BJP leader said "I have come to Guwahati for the first time since BJP come to power. Now, Assam is going in the track of development. Once, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had contested from Assam and became MP of Rajya Sabha. But, he had done nothing for the state. I am happy to see the gathering in Airport like bus station. Corruption, murders, violence have disappeared under Narendra Modi government. BJP has initiated to implement the Clause 6 of Assam Accord to protect the identity of greater Assamese community."

"BJP had given Bharat Ratna to Gopinath Bordoloi."

"Now, our government has conferred Bharat Ratna to Assam gem Bhupen Hazarika"- Singh added.

Attacking the proposed "Mahagathbandhan" of opposition parties, Chouhan said that it is "MahaThagBandhan", not "Mahagathbandhan. Rahul Gandhi is the biggest liar. The Congress party has been doing politics by applying false complaints over government".

Expressing grief regarding the hooch tragedy, Singh said – "The authorities concerned must be held accountable for the ill-fated incident and strict action must be taken against the guilty officers."
