Prabajan Virodhi Manch Convener -cum-Senior Advocate Upamanyu Hazarika called a press conference on Tuesday, where he alleged that BJP MLA Shiladitya Deb, All Assam Bengali Youth Students Federation (AABYSF) Sukumar Biswas are playing role in a drama, which is written by BJP itself.

He also said -"The Bangladeshi immigrants are not our real enemies but our elected political leaders; they are playing politics over Assamese sentiments."

"The threat to the existence of indigenous people has not only come from the Citizenship Amendment Bill but also from the existing illegal immigrants who heading towards a majority across Lower and Middle Assam and slowly sleeping into Upper Assam," added Upamanyu Hazarika.

Hazarika also reportedly claimed that such a disclosure will only help the political parties for the upcoming elections and will prove harmful for the people. The Government is trying to polarise society to divert attention from key issues.
