Saraighat Bridge to Reopen on June 20

Therenovation of old Saraighat Bridge will be completed by June 20 and it will beopen for the public on the same day.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also instructed the workers to complete the renovation work of the bridge in the aforesaid time.

Accordingto a press statement released by NF Railway, it said that some 500 workers havebeen engaged to carry out the task of replacing all the 54 slabs on the entireupper deck and the replacement of 11 expansion joints over the pillars is inprogress.

Thestatement also said that on an average, 75 workers are engaged in breaking theslabs per day and 45 workers per day are engaged in carrying these brokenpieces for cleaning.
